In brief: Encourage fluids
The most important thing to do is to keep your child hydrated, as these illnesses can lead to dehydration.
Encourage him/her to drink lots of fluids - offer them more frequently than normal. Pedialyte is the best thing for children to drink. If the child has fever, blood in the stools, or persistent diarrhea >1 week or shows signs of dehydration like decreased urination or lethargy, see your doc.

While Pedialyte is fine for fluid replacement, if your child is not throwing up and wants to eat he/she can be fed a normal diet.

In brief: Other symptoms???
A 3yo that has runny poo daily x3 but is running around happy & playful, urniating every 6 hrs or more & keeping down fluids is one you can work with at home.
Applesauce/bananas/ noodles & rice might help firm her naturally. If she's quiet, inactive & reluctant to move or play she deserves a trip to the dr. If she hasn't voided in 8 or more hrs she needs a lookover.Good luck!
