In brief: Solid food

Solid foods are initiated at 4 months old .
Usually start off with rice cereal as it is easily digestable till 6 months old or one new 1st stage baby food, single kind such as pears by itself, spinach, apple sauce etc every 4 to 5 days.In case of allergic reaction, it will be easier to pinpoint what your baby is allergic to. Or start solids at 6 mos old directly w 2nd stage baby food.Plus formula.

American Academy of Pediatrics recommends solid food at 5 and a half to six months. Starting rice cereal at 4 months is harmful and the infants do not the pancreatic enzymes to digest it. Should recommend breastfeeding for at least one year or longer .

In brief: Introduci solids

Recent recommendations are to introduce solids at age 6 months of age starting wiht rice creal as it is easier to digest of course.
Babies are gradualy advanced to other soilds so that by age 9 months they are on stage 3 baby foods.
