In brief: CHRONIC COUGH

Chronic cough that persists is usually secondary to Allergies , Asthma or GERD.
Follow up with your PCP for exam/labs/CXR. If you have risk factors for HIV you must tell your doc so you can be screened appropriately. Please practice safe sex for multiple reasons, (PREGNANCY/STD/HIV) YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

I agree with Dr. Feola completely and would add if you smoke, that is another potential problem. Talk with your doctor about quitting, they can help. If you don't smoke, consider if you are exposed to second hand smoke that may be contributing.
