I was diagnosed 7 months ago with aqueductal stenosis, hydrocephalus and tonsilar ectopia. Doc says shunt is more dangerous than condition. Any help?

In brief: Get 2nd oopinion

Aqueductal stenosis can produce hydrocephalus.
You are much older than most individuals who have that diagnosis. I presume that you had neuroimaging due to headaches. If the headaches are causing you significant distress or are interfering with your life activities, I would consider a 2nd opinion about a shunt.
