I have pain in my right toe knuckle when I walk, does this sound like gout?

No. Gout is usually severely painful, red and swollen and hurts at rest and with activity. Pain with walking may be due to arthritis or other joint irritation.
Arthritis. This could be arthritis, which includes gout; it could also be just a painful bunion. Your age and how long the pain has been present will help determine the cause. Also is the pain better in shoes or when you are barefoot.
Is it sudden & red? That's the right location for gout but it's usually red, swollen, warm and starts very suddenly (reaching maximum pain in hours) then resolves completely in 3-7 days. If you think you have gout you could see your doctor.
