I have a bump on the side of my pinky and its been there for a couple years, my friend told me its a planters wart, how can I tell?

Warts usually- Have a rough surface and may grow slowly with time. If it has a smooth surface this may be a ganglion cyst or other growth. It would be best to show this to your doctor.
Pinky Bump. Can't tell without seeing. However, I am certain this is not a plantar wart. Plantar warts occur only on the soles of the feet! see your dermatologist or primary care physician to make sure it's not malignant. It "sounds" as if it's a plain old wart . . .
See dermatologist. See if there are black pin point heads in that lump.
