In brief: Ganglion cyst
It is likely that it was a ganglion cyst which is a benign fluid filled sac that arises from a joint or a tendon sheath.
If this settles down over a week or two then it will probably be ok. But if the pain persists or worsens then see an orthopaedist.

In brief: Ganglion Cyst
Collections of joint fluid or tendon sheath fluid in form of a cyst.
These are usually associated with arthritis in the midfoot or arch area. You should consult your doctor to make sure that there is nothing else there. At least an x-ray would be helpful.
