In brief: Refractory migraine

For a refractory migraine, it is a good idea to consider if it is really a migraine, and to seek some management other than butabital- since this medicine wears off after a few hours.
Sometimes simple remedies such as diet changes or magnesium supplements can help too.

Migraines are usually one sided and go away within 72 hours. This may be more of a tension headache. Try to relax and do some stretching of neck. If you have focal neurological symptoms, dizziness, troubles with vision, nausea, then see your MD .
