What other antibiotics is good for tooth infection if augmentin/amoxicillin doesn't work? Just for my information sake. Seeing a dentist soon. Thanks

Agree. i agree with all of the answers already given. Know, however, that antibiotics DO NOT CURE infected teeth. They limit the spread of infection into other tissues until the infected tooth material can be removed (root canal or extraction). Comprehensive Dental Care is a must...don't expect a pill to do it.
Depends. Clindamycin has been recommended by another doc and this is a good choice. Another option for particularly aggressive infections is to take Flagyl in addition to the Amox or Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate).
Clindamycin. You may need an antibiotic for boney infections...this is a good choice...a better one is to get to the source of the problem.
Not the Answer. Antibiotics cannot reach the infected area of a tooth. It may temporarily suppress the infection outside the tooth, but the infection will never clear without attention from a dentist. Don't delay too long as you are putting your health at risk. Good Luck.
Clindamycin. Clindamycin a good choice. Let treating doc guide you with proper medication and instructions for use.
See a dentist ASAP. The most common cause for dental pain are inflammations and not infections. Antibiotics are rarely required and should only be used as an adjunct to dental treatment for infection since they may complicate further outcome. Take the NSAID OTC or Tylenol (acetaminophen) to control pain and see your dentist ASAP.
Dental treatment. antibiotics will not cure an infected tooth. You need to have the tooth, the source of the infection, treated y your dentist.
