In brief: Anorexia & exercise

If you have or have had anorexia nervosa, which is a serious, potentially deadly condition, you should really already be under the care of an eating disorder specialist.
What does he or she say?

If you cant find a eating disorder specialist, start with your family physician. Great answer! Wishing you'all the best.

No, you should not stay away from exercise.
It is important for you to make sure you have an adequate caloric intake, but you must continue to exercise so that your body remodels itself appropriately. An elliptical is a good choice because it will provide you with cardio as well as removing the impact damage to your joints. Be sure to keep your caloric intake high enough to meet your needs!

In brief: It depends

If you are doing well, gaining weight and otherwise healthy then reasonable exercise is fine.
If you are still quite ill and weak , however, then i would avoid strenuous exercise at this time.
