What is the earliest you can see a heartbeat? I had a transvaginal u/s done at 5 weeks 4 days and I was able to see it, is that possible at all?

In brief: Yes

I cannot guarantee that means your dates are correct, but I've occasionally seen heartbeats between about 5 weeks 3 days and 6 weeks in accurately dated pregnancies.
I'd guess - not a fact just a guess- it's less than about 1% of the time. Good wishes.

The fetal heart is formed at 5 weeks gestational age and yes can be seen as early as 5 weeks 3 days.
