In brief: Headaches & Ear Pain

Sometimes the occipital nerve such as the lesser or third occipital nerve can cause ear pain that is associated with headaches.
Are the headaches in the back of your head and rarely go past the top of your head? Any issues with your neck? May need a med to calm down irritation to the occipital nerve (short course oral steroids, Toradol, or neuropathic meds).

A middle ear infection would also causes headaches and ear pain. The branches of the nerves mentioned supply all that area. See your MD for a ear exam and possible referral to ENT. You probably need an antibiotic also almoh with a pain killer

Both docs are correct. Also, with the drainage and pain, a chronic infection/inflammation of the ear canal is possible. No Q tips! If you have been using drops in your ears, stop! Time to get checked. The doc who examines you will know better than any of us.BTW, a chronic ear infection killed Oscar Wilde, so don't delay.
