I have an Ovarian Cyst, how long until the pain goes away? And how will I know it has dissolved?

Depends. Most ovarian cyst resolve in 6 to 8 weeks. But if not then we need to think of , cause of the cyst. It could be part something more, and then pain does not go away. Such as it can be Endometriosis or it can increase in size or undergo torsion and then you will be in ER.

Depends. There are many types of cysts, from large simple cysts to small follicular cysts to complex, heavy cysts. Birth control pills trick the brain into not stimulating the ovaries, thus less cyst formation and likely improvement in pain. If small they can resorb in time, add tylenol (acetaminophen) 2 500 mg 4 times a day and use 2 aleve 2x per day, might work better tham motrin, good luck. Read more...
