HPV tends to be a life long infection, like HSV, even if the body clears symptoms. Is this true for cancer-associated strains as well?Or just warts?

In brief: HPV

there are certain strains of HPV that cause cancer, they don't cause warts though.
You need to keep up on annual PAP smears to monitor for that. HSV doesn't cause cancer. If you need anything else like prescriptions or anything else feel feel to perform Virtual Consults with me in the future. Hope that helps
