Pollen-food syndrome. Pollen-food syndrome, aka oral allergy syndrome, is well characterized and typically manifests as itching with or without swelling of the lips, tongue, palate, and throat. Food sensitivity requiring epinephrine is rare. Patients usually have sensitivity to certain foods and to antigenically similar class of pollens.
