The small red spot that you are describing sounds like a sub conjunctival hemorrhage which is due to a blood vessel that was damaged under the white membrane of the eye. In itself it's not dangerous but trauma to the eye may be associated with glaucoma, retinal tear, blood in the anterior chamber known as hyphema, etc.
