Thyroid and mood. Hyperthyroidism often causes anxiety. Hypothyroidism can lead to several psychiatric problems, most commonly depression. There can also be cognitive (thinking) impairment, and in severe (and rare) cases, psychosis. Correcting the thyroid imbalance usually corrects the changes in mood and thinking.
HYPOTHYROIDISM. RECENT LABS TO SEE THYROID LEVELS WOULD BE A START. MOOD CHANGES ARE VERY COMMON WITH THYROID DISEASE.
