In brief: Benign liver disease

This description of echotexture describes the relative level of echogenicity (ability to bounce an echo wave) of the liver. Assessment of liver echogenicity is of value for assessing moderate to pronounced fatty infiltration but is not reliable for diagnosing fibrosis.
Smooth external outline means there is not cirrhosis. See your MD for additional testing and treatment for fatty liver

A coarse liver echotexture is most commonly due to benign fatty infiltration, but the finding is nonspecific and there are a variety of potential etiologies, so the significance must be interpreted in conjunction with your whole clinical and laboratory picture.
