Besides being on a beta blocker, is there a way to control random adrenaline surges which raise heart rate and blood pressure?

Look for cause. Beta blockers are very effective in controlling excess adrenergic activity. If they are not effective, perhaps the underlying cause should be thoroughly investigated. Excess anxiety can sometimes cause this as can tumors of the adrenal medulla. Consult your primary care or an endocrinologist for advice. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
