In brief: Comfort
An uncomplicated cold is viral and currently there is no medicine cure.
Comfort includes keeping well hydrated, a vaporizer, and saline (salt water) nose drops. Over the counter cold remedies are not recommended for young children due to safety concerns. If you have questions, contact your pediatrician.

In brief: Cold management
A cold is a virus, therefore cannot be cured with antibiotics.
Symptomatic treatment is best. Give tyelenol or Motrin for body aches or fever, but over the counter cold & cough medication isn't recommended for toddlers, infact these medications can cause more problems. Offer plenty of liquids, run a humidifier, and clean nose with bulb suctiion. If it lasts more than 10 day call your doctor.
