In brief: Yes

Fibromatosis, while it doesn't have "sarcoma"in the name is actually a low-grade sarcoma.
However, this only applies to cases occurring in the abdomen. Less commonly, these tumors can occur on the extremity. Cases of Palmar and Plantar fibromatosis are not aggressive and generally behave in a benign fashion. Have your sarcoma pathology checked by an expert [email protected]

The notation that fibromatosis are actually a low grade form of sarcoma is incorrect. They are entirely benign and fit into a spectrum of fibrous tissue tumors beginning with the keloid. They are more common in the extremity than the abdomen and behave entirely benign but do require total excision to prevent local recurrence. In brief: Borderline lesion

In the spectrum of fibrous tissue tumors, fibromatosis representing a lesion at the lower end.
It begins with keloid, then desmoid , progressing to fibromatosis and then dermatofibrosarcoma. When plantar fibromatosis first reported, incomplete resection led to local recurrence. Lesion interpreted as malignant and amputations then performed. Now recognized as benign.
