In brief: Not usually

After about 6 weeks the uterus should be back to normal.
However, having a cesarean delivery does increase the chances of developing endometriosis which can resul in persistent and sometimes increasing pelvic and uterine pain for months or years after a cesarean delivery. The abdominal wall (incision) may remain tender and have occasional pains for up to 6 months or so after a cesarean delivery.
