Does high liver enzymes always mean hepatitis b?

No. High liver enzymes can be due to meny causes and do not always mean hepatitis b.
High liver enzymes. Elevation of liver enzymes is a sign of damage to liver cells, which then spill the enzymes into the circulation. These enzymes are detected by a blood test-liver function tests (lfts). Elevations of lfts can be seen with fatty liver, alcohol consumption, taking certain medications, viral infections (hepatitis a, b, c, etc), autoimmune damage to liver and many other causes.
