My total cholesterol is 132. I've read a few articles that too low a total cholesterol (<160) is linked to health problems like increased risk of hemorrhage, depression, and even dementia. Any truth?

Not too low. This level of cholesterol should not present any problems to you.
Low cholesterol. Cholesterol is needed to make many important hormones and for cellular health in our body, but 130 wouldn't be too low to do that. I assume you're not taking any cholesterol lowering medications, but if you are,I don't think that you have to shoot for that low a level unless your LDL level is over 100(unlikely) However it's best to follow your physician's advice as he/she knows all your findings.
