In brief: Have him drink

plenty of fluids and use saline and suction for his nose (unless he is able to blow his nose).
He is too young for "cold" medications, which really don't treat the cause anyway. You can also use a humidifier in his sleeping area (unless he has a mold allergy or asthma). Please see his doctor if he has a fever, pain, difficulty breathing or history of respiratory problems, or if it doesn't go away.
