In brief: Choledocholithiasis

Choledocholithiasis is the medical term for retained gallstones in the bile duct.
It can result in pain in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen and/or jaundice. There can be many other causes of right upper quadrant pain after gallbladder removal, but an MRCP is a very useful test for detecting those stones if present. If your pain is that severe, don't delay. Good luck.
