Kids get attached to security objects, and the objects can vary from stuffed animals, other toys, and blankets, to even an item of their parent's clothing.
If you're able to distract your child from it with other toys and games, and your child is able to interact normally with people, it's probably ok. If not, please see your pediatrician.
