My gf had a cold sore on her lips and all the time I was kissing her when I made a herpes blood test it came out IgG postive IgM negative?

Not to worry. Cold sores are caused by herpes virus but the majority of people in the us have been infected & many never get cold sores (even though once you get it it stays in your body). Your test shows you were got herpes long ago but have no sign of recent exposure. You can't catch it from your girlfriend because you already have it. However, she could spread it to your genital region so take precautions!

Could my gf transmited herpes to me? She got cold sore on her lips after 25 days I made a blood test it came IgG +ve IgM -ve

Not likely. It sounds like you had hsv before; 25 days is too short to make a full transition between igg and igm, you would expect at least some igm present. Read more...
Herpes. Herpes is a pain since it can be transmitted even when there are no active sores. A positive igg means a previous infection or exposure. The igm shows that there is no acute infection. Read more...

Should I take igm & igg blood test for Hsv if exposed to g herpes but no outbreak, have other symptoms, and had mouth cold sores in the past. Advice?

Depends. If the exposure is within a couple of weeks, IgM would be the test to get. On the other hand, there is no harm if getting IgG which would indicate exposure months or years ago. Unfortunately an infected person, even in the absence of symptoms, may infect other people. Until this situation has been settled, insist on condom use. Read more...

Is a HSV igm & igg blood test helpful after g herpes exposure 6+months ago? No genital outbreak, other symptoms, but have had mouth cold sores before.

Probably yes. The HSV IgG tests are excellent, and a negative result for HSV2 6+ months after exposure shows you were not infected. The HSV1 result should have been positive if your diagnosis of past cold sores is correct, but once in a while the test misses HSV1 (but rarely HSV2). The IgM result doesn't help one way or the other -- it's inherently unreliable anyway, never done by herpes or STD experts. Read more...

Do I infect other if I tested for herpes blood test IgG positive 158 and IgM negative 0.08? And what negative IgG means? Thank you

You can. If you carry herpes with a positive igg, you can infect others, especially if you have active sores at the time. Negative igg would mean no past exposure. Read more...

I had herpes blood test 1&2 IgG positive 158 IgM negative 0.08 they told me I don't have herpes are they correct? I'm so confused please help me

Yes. They are correct. Igm tells us if you have an acute or active infection. This was negative, so you do not. The igg tells us you have previously been exposed or infected. This was positive, so you have. Read more...

What is the most accurate blood test for herpes I made one which cames out IgG +ve IgM -ve but it didn't distinguished if it is oral or gentel?

Ask doctor again. Igm antibodies tell us you have not just recently contracted herpes. Igg antibodies positive mean old herpes. Almost everybody in the country has cold sores because of grandmas kissing babies/etc. Oral is 2/3rds type i herpes & 1/3 type ii these days & vice versa for genital. This is only important to know for future reference because type ii is much more severe &.Frequent. Treatment is the same. Read more...
