I had surgery for an incisional hernia after bladder surgery. Open surgery with large mesh. Will I ever be able to lift weights again?

In brief: Why not

After successful repair of hernia , should be able to resume all the activities progressively you did before surgery , best person to answer is your surgeon , will advise you the limitations once you heal completely .

In brief: Yes, assuming

your hernia repair is successful, which is the case in probably about 90% of the cases, more or less depending on size of hernia and strength of your native tissue.
You should wait for several months before you start however. Discuss with your surgeon for specific recommendation.

In brief: You should

If everything goes well.
And it should. You should be able to go back to weights. Start back slowly when ready and ease into it. No heavy 'jerks'. Slowly build back to where you were
