Female 21. Severe IBS-D. Is it harmful to take 2 Imodium (loperamide) tablets once a week to manage the diarrhea and cramps?

Generally, a young female like yourself should have no problems taking this small amount of imodium (loperamide) to manage diarrhea/cramps.
We get more worried if someone requires more than 4 imodium (loperamide)s in a day. See your doctor if you develop any "red flag" signs, such as blood in stool, unintentional wt loss, worsening abdominal pain. This may warrant work up to r/o sprue, Crohn's, Ulc colitis,...
