You can have bone spurs with out pain and vice versa. Fascitis can occur with or without spurs as it is a tissue injury and does not require a bone irritation to be accociated with it. A better tool to access is a simple diagnostic ultrasound to see how inflammed or thick the fascia is and then determine good treatment options.
