Can a lumbar puncture be the cause of lumbosacral plexopathy if it was not done properly?

In brief: Usually inflammation

I have had a number of individuals develop lumbosacral plexopathy symptoms throughout the years, I have put them all on a course of steroids and they all improved.
I don't think it's traumatic, I think it's inflammatory, perhaps due to some blood in the region irritating the nerve trunk, roots and plexi.
