Hubby's uvula is swollen to where it can sit on the back of his tongue. Food allergy? He has Benadryl (diphenhydramine) but still having a hard time breathing at times.

If it's getting too large and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) ain't workin' then a nebulizer with certain medications (like albuterol or racemic epinephrine) can help.
Sometimes they get so big they have to be lanced. Chewing ice chips may help a bit. If hubby starts to gag or choke, or swelling pops-up in other places, then it's time to go to the ER for evaluation and treatment. Otherwise it may go away on its own.
