In brief: Symptoms

Hi. Not one single symptom associated with hypothyroidism is specific for hypothyroidism. The most commonly complained of, fatigue and weight gain, most often have NO relationship to thyroid function; same for ANY other associated symptoms.
There may be something else wrong or nothing wrong at all. At least now you know it's not your thyroid. Good luck!

In brief: Other tests

TSH is increased in hypothyroidism if all the compnents of the negative feedback regulatory mechanism of this hormone are intact.
Your endocrinologist can also meaure the levels of the thyroid hormones themselves (T3 (liothyronine) and T4) to further characterize your disease
