I'm 28 weeks pregnant and my doctor said Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is safe to take?

In brief: Relatively safe

As a category C drug, this med has not been shown to cause problems with a human fetus, but not enough data is available to consider it as safe a med like Tylenol (acetaminophen).
It is one of the most common designations for meds taken safely during pregnancy. However, flu in a pregnant woman can cause maternal death and or fetal loss. We had two such losses during the flu epidemic of 2009 in my town.
