Is elbow tendonitus treatable? Are cortizone (hydrocortisone) injections good?

Try braces, PT &- NSAIDS & stretching & activity modification. If all fails a steroid injection may help. Not repeated tho as steroids also damage the tissue it is injected into. A double edged sword, great drug but also dangerous for tissue. . Read more...
Would. leave cortisone shots as last choice. Wear a "bowlers" Velcro band, ice, rest. Once better try forearm weight excercises. Read more...

Hi, got cortizone (hydrocortisone) injection for my elbow tendonitus. How long be it takes full effect. Should it hurt first before feeling good?

Can take days-week. Steroid injections usually include lidocaine which initially numbs the area, making it feel better until it wears off. Site pain can then actually increase until steroid can take effect to reduce inflammation, which can take days to a week. I recommend icing area, using an elbow airpillow (like AIRCAST) and ibuprofen/naproxne with limited use of arm until symptoms improve. See Dr if no better. Read more...

Have elbow tendonitus but recently had cortizone (hydrocortisone) injection. Elbow still pops when I bend them. What?

Elbow pop. you may not have tendinitis then. That usually doesnt make the elbow pop. You may have a ligament injury which makes the elbow unstable and causes pops. Or you may have a small loose body inside the joint that causes the elbow to lock then the loose body moves and the elbow unlocks and causes a pop. You may need an MRI to further evaluate your elbow.
