In brief: Cavity?
There are many reasons for your tooth ache.
Hot and cold sensitivity in your teeth , when you drink hot or cold liquids or breathe in cold air, can be caused by a cavity, root exposure sensitivity, a nerve in your tooth dying, or just a temporary hypersensitvity. If it is consistent or has lasted over a week, call your dentist. They will be able to find the source and correct it.

In brief: Sensitivity
This is tooth sensitivity.
This can be caused by cavities or worn teeth. It would be good to see your dentist. The enamel on teeth (the hard coating) can weaken from the effects of acid and bacteria in your mouth making you more prone to cavities and gum disease. You can help prevent this with sensitivity toothpastes and high flouride toothpastes and rinses. Flouride can strengthen teeth.
