For how many years Requip (ropinirole) is an effective treatment for Parkinson's as the decease progresses?

That Depends . Requip (ropinirole) is not a cure nor will it lessen the progression (or I'm unaware of such evidence)....however it's benefit on symptoms of a movement disorder may be present as long as you take the medication, possibly many years. If you think it may no longer be effective, then discuss with provider. Maybe a dosage adjustment or maybe a trial off/on the medication is reasonable. .
Variable. Treatment effectiveness with Requip (ropinirole) is variable and unpredictable depending on each patient/case.

Parkinson patient for 7 years currently taking sinemet & requip (ropinirole). Only sinemet seems to releive systoms. Is there any risks of stoping requip (ropinirole)?

See neurologist. The Requip (ropinirole) may not be playing much of a role at this point, and could be tapered off over a few days. There really is no substantial withdrawal issue usually, and unlikely to experience any challenges. Discuss with your doctor, and revamp your medications, as dbs will certainly change your med needs. How effective is Ropinirole (Requip) for treating Parkinson's disease?

Depends upon stage. A drug such as ropinorole is a dopamine agonist, and may be used early in mild Parkinson's with good results, and may be added to L-DOPA in more advanced patients to enhance effect of the former. However, this class of drugs has limited benefit overall, and really does not displace need for L-DOPA. Read more...

I am breaking out in hives from requip (ropinirole) for Parkinson's disease, will other dopamine agonists give me hives?

Perhaps not. Worthwhile trying Neupro (rotigotine) patch, which may not cause the allergic rxtn. If this too fails, go to various l-dopa preps, as unlikely to cause similar process. Read more...
Maybe, maybe not. It could be the ropinirole itself or it could be an "inert" ingredient in the formulation, especially if it's Requip XL. The only problem I've seen with the rotigotine patch (Neupro) is failure to stick or local allergy to the adhesive. But I notice that you're 39. At your age, consider DBS sooner rather than later. If your brain progresses past the DOPA-responsive stage, DBS won't work. Read more...

Can requip (ropinirole) XR be broken down in the stomach and not be absorbed into the blood stream because of the slowed muscles with Parkinson's desease?

No. Parkinson's affects the voluntary muscles and the autonomic nervous system. There can be swallowing and constipation problems but the enzymatic functions of the stomach should still be maintained. Talk with your neurologist - perhaps a different form of the medication would be more effective for you, or a different medication altogether. Read more...
Not a bad question. I like the way you think. You seem to have an analytical mind which works very logically. Keep it Up. However, in this case although it sounds like a logical consequence of having PD....we know that clinical effects of these drugs is not significantly altered because of movement difficulties or slowness.
