One month missed period and negative hpt?

Irregular cycle. Many things can cause changes in the regularity of your cycle besides pregnancy. It is not uncommon for cycles to be irregular for the first couple of years after starting. Additionally, illness, stress, excessive exercise, excessive weight loss and diet changes can cause changes in your pattern. If your cycle does not return soon, see your doctor for 'secondary amenorrhea'.
Possible causes. Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems (i.e. PCOS). #1 reason is pregnancy.

TTC. Today is Day one after missed period. Been taking hpt everyday for 3 days. All neg. Today it was white line and pink line. Help?

Please wait. You could visit your doctor for a blood test that would be positive by now if you are pregnant. Or you could wait 3-4 days to do HPT. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions in the kit carefully. The kit should explain when and how to read the results. Read more...

Brown discharge? It might not be a bad idea to see your doctor just to examine you and get a more detailed menstrual history. From there, the cause of your symptoms may come to light. It is possible that you have clotting of blood in the cervix, blocking the normal menstrual flow. Brown discharge often means that you have retained within the uterus. Often these pass on their own. Period came twice last mnth and now late this month but cramping and very tender breasts took HPT a few days ago BEFORE missed period and negative.?

Tested too soon. Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. Read more...

I am now almost 3 months missed period with multiple negative HPTs. I am under a lot of stress and I have a 9m old. I'm very overwight as well. Any Idea?

Lack of period. It sounds like you aren't ovulating and generally if that goes on for more then 3 months you may have a very heavy prolonged bleed. Could be thyroid issue, prolactin production issue and even a false positive pregnancy test (some women never have a positive urine, but only have positive blood tests). Time to see your physician. Almost a month of missed period, negative hpt, lab work normal, nipples darkening, bloated, and dry heaves?

More reliable test. Depending on your previous menstrual habits, it is possible that your last period was too short or hardly noticeable and your are about to have the next one or you may be pregnant but the test you ran was unreliable. If you have a strong reason to suspect that you are pregnant, then you need a more reliable (in lab) preg test. Read more...
