Right shoulder and neck pain without injury?

Varies. There are a number if possibilities, the two mist common are a cervical radiculopathy or a rotator cuff tear. A cervical radiculopathy is an irritation if a nerve in the neck causing pain running into the shoulder. A torn rotator cuff does not always need a injury to cause, can be degenerative. I would not hesitate to be seen. An exam can usually determine the likely cause.
See below. Without a history of trauma, neck and shoulder pain can be caused by poor posture, a bad disc in the spine, or an irritated nerve in the neck. Try placing a lumbar support behind your lower back when sitting to help straighten your shoulders. Sit closer to the table and avoid 'hunching' over the plate. If your pain doesn't improve in 2 weeks see your physician.

Not related. I assume you are using your inhaler for a pulmonary (lung) problem. Lung disease does not cause shoulder and/or neck pain so i can say with a fair amount of certainty the two conditions are unrelated. For your neck/shoulder pain, see a pain medicine specialist who can not only tell you what is wrong but make you better as well. Good luck. Read more...

Neck pain. The shunt can be a cause, but more likely it is cervical strain or possibly a cervical disk herniation. I would get an exam by a neurosurgeon or neurologist and then imaging to look at the shunt and the cervical spine. Read more...
Radiculopathy . Your symptoms sound more like a cervical (neck) radiculopathy (pinched nerve) than a problem with your shunt. However, i would rec that you first have the shunt evaluated (you didn't report why you have it). The eval may include an MRI of brain and cervical spine to make sure you don't have a fluid backup ; give info as to whether u have a cervical disc problem. See ur neurosurgeon! Read more...

Had right shoulder/neck pain for 3 months. Now also having burning chest pain in right side, and asthma-like symptoms. Inhaler helps, but not for long?

Not related. Your right sided pain may come from the cervical spine and i urge you to consult an orthopedist before things get worse. As for your asthma, you need a controller drug (usually an inhaled steroid) on a daily basis and again this needs to be prescribed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor soon before your asthma gets worse. Read more...
