Certain food is sticking in my throat (i.e. nuts). Have had heartburn. PCP thought it was related. On Nexium (esomeprazole). How long for this to go away?

Depends. It depends on many factors, including the severity of the Gerd, whether any strictures are present, and how effective the medication is at controlling the acid reflux. Continue with your medicine and with anti-reflux measures. If you do not improve with your medication after several weeks, you may need a change of medication or a referral to a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. Good luck.
