Can lung cancer cause symptoms similar to the common cold or flu?

Not really. Lung Cancer will not cause running nose or sore throat. But it often does cause cough which is persistent(>3 weeks) and progressive. Chest pain and or shortness of breath can also be a symptom of Lung cancer.
