In brief: Preg test Anytime

You can take a pregnancy test anytime you want.
You have a common misconception regarding pregnancy, ovulation and bleeding. Ovulation is the release of an egg about midway during your menstrual cycle. If there is no fertilization during the next two weeks. The uterus sheds and bleeds. There is no implantation bleeding. You should start birth control and use protection to prevent preg in the future

In brief: Depends on cycles

Depends on how regular (or not) your menstrual cycles are.
Pregnancy tests are reliable a few days before the expected period, so you could do one then. If you have no idea when your next period will be, then testing about 3 weeks after intercourse would be a good guess.

If you don't want to spend more money on repeated tests, it is a good idea to wait until the date your period is expected. Most all brands of home pregnancy tests will be positive then if you are truly pregnant. Good luck!
