I had a failed attempt to have a Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD inserted, today. Due to a fibroid. Told to come back to have a colposcopy during the next attempt?

Different issues. A colposcopy is a microscopic exam of the cervix to determine if precancerous cells of the cervix are present. It is not related to fibroids or an IUD. Please clarify with your obgyn which procedures are being done and make sure you understand the rationale behind each one.
