When I extend thoracic spine, or lie flat, it is very stiff and crunches, cracks, and slowly opens up. I have constant muscle spasms. Any thoughts?

Over weight , heavy duty , High Impact exerciseand work involving lifting heavy weight or repeated Bending can affect your Back muscle.
Get examined, May need Xray to check on the Anatomical configuration of the Spine. There is a condition that affect Young male called Ankylosing Spondylosis= but needs Exam and sp. Blood test. If all normal PT will help you.
