Pediatrics - Developmental & Behavioral

In brief: If hearing-impaired,

even a mild unilateral hearing loss, babies with microtia need Early Intervention at 0-3 & Early Childhood Special Ed.
thru the school district at 3 -5 for receptive/expressive language delay, a precursor of dyslexia & disorder of written expression, & a Craniofacial Team evaluation. Of the 53 gene mutations known to cause Microtia, 5 also cause Intellectual Disability. See my comment.

The closest Craniofacial Clinic to Lake Jackson is: http://www.texaschildrens.org/Craniofacial-Program/ , 832-822-3180, in Houston. No geneticist or developmental/behavioral pediatrician is listed on their team, so you'd need separate referrals from the pediatrician for those. For Early Childhood Services, see http://www.dars.state.tx.us/ecis/ or call 1-800-628-5115.
