In brief: Muscle strain/disc

You could have a muscle strain, cramping or disc problem. if the problem is not severe try ice alternating with heat and an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen.
Gentle stretches and back exercises may help. If the pain is severe or if you have pain going down your leg see your doctor as soon as possible. Once your pain is gone try to build up abdominal muscles to prevent further back pain.
