In brief: Unlikely

It would be very unlikely to have anything wrong with your heart and lungs at age 16 that wasn't there at birth.
It's always possible (although again very unlikely) to have something wrong with your heart and lungs show up that was unknown show up in your teen years. Why do you ask?

There can be occult defects. As Dr. Oh noted, they are unlikely. Your doctor can often pick up a heart defect when listening to your chest. If you are not having any symptoms, I wouldn't worry about.

In brief: Paranoia

There are a variety of rare issues that can come up in anyone at anytime.
If you are having discomfort in the left side of your chest, just under your ribcage, it is most likely heartburn (reflux) and not some rare heart condition. At 16 it is easy to begin wondering what life is about and whether you can make it to adulthood. If you have concerns please share them with your folks and get a checkup.
