My throat hurts and ears. I have phlegm and when I coughed little blood was in it. Is this serious? Happened inthe morning also yellow mucus in nose.

See below. Yellow or green mucous is not concerning. If there was only a bit of blood streaking, the source was probably a slight bleed in the nose mucosa. If it continues, get seen, otherwise, using otc meds can help. Read more...

What causes a sore throat, mouth yellow in color, thick phlegm in throat? This has been going on for over a month.

What medication can I Take for sore throat, stuffy nose and coughing up yellow phlegm if I have high BP?

This is an infection. If your phlegm is yellow, you likely have an infection and it is no longer simply a "head cold". Having said that you need to be seen by PCP and considered for antibacterial if it is not deemed viral. However, in the interim, for symptomatic relief you can take Delsym for cough, ADvil/tylenol for soar throat altho that will mask a fever, and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) as a decongestant at night (sleep), no Sudafed. Most of us will treat with antibiotics if it happens for more than 3 days. There are other causes, too, but it's a GREAT idea to get checked soon. In the meantime, avoid otc cough and cold meds, and fragrances and aerosols (which don't help, can make worse) Read more...
Bronchitis. No, don't worry. You are describing symptoms of bronchitis which we would expect to settle on it's own without the need for antibiotics. Only worry if you start to get short of breath or the amount of blood increases or if you continue coughing sputum & blood for longer than a few weeks. Read more...

Normal. The last two symptoms to clear after a viral illness are drainage and cough. It may take 2-3 weeks for these to completely clear. If these symptoms persist for a total of 4 weeks then may be low grade sinusitis and need antibiotics to clear. Read more...
