Does a resting ECG pick up or can it pick up your blood flow to thé heart or what can it say about your hearts health in general?

Resting ecg. An ECG can be likened to a window upon the heart, the appearance and interpretation is an act of pattern recognition from which inferences can be made regarding cardiac status. It may thus reveal ischemic changes from which one may infer the presence of obstruction to blood flow to the heart muscle.

My dr referred me to a cardiologist for a high resting hr, blood, ECG are normal, no anxiety or coffee, heart seems fine, what else could be wrong?

Normal 60-100. Level of physical fitness, circulating hormones and autonomic nervous system control resting hr. If consistently at or above 100 something maybe wrong. Don't know what blood test were done. Ecg can be normal and still have a heart condition. Stress test and 2d echo to be certain. Probably nothing. Most cases of patients with high resting heart rates are nothing at all, and related to deconditioning or being "out of shape". Only very rarely is it something else. Read more...

My ECG and blood work are normal but my resting heart can get as low as 41 when sitting. Can a prolonged sedentary lifestyle cause bradycardia?

Dysautonomia - MVP . Possibly due to low resting energy requirements. You may have dysautonomia which is associated with mitral valve prolapse syndrome - neither are usually life threatening but both cause patients anxiety about their symptoms. Read dr. Richard hoffman's book on mvp on amazon.Com. Increase fluid intake, try magnesium supplements. Read more...
Maybe. Although the contrary is more the rule: the more you exercise and become fit, the lower your heart rate (and that is good) . If you have uncontrolled hypertension, that is the most likely reason for slow hr (reflex mechanism) you probably need to control BP better and exercise more. That will also be beneficial for your depression. Do not measure hr unnecessarily, if you don't have symptoms. Read more...

51 F, squeezing heart pain. Been in ER 3 days, ECG/blood ok. I looked at my Tropolin its 0.02 (lab 0.02-0.06) why dr say its ok, when boarderline?

Because it is normal. Again, doctors treat patients, not lab results, the type of pain you had doesn't mean your heart muscle is insulted, could just be a coronary spasm causing the same symptoms, having chest pain doesn't always mean a heart attack, trust your doctors, and keep your follow up and take medicines as prescribed, wish you all the best.
